The new cafeteria project has been one of the most talked-about changes at Morristown Beard School this year. Students and faculty have been eagerly awaiting its grand opening since construction began over the summer. Although the renovation has taken longer than expected, the new space is projected to open sometime in November.
Ms. Levinson, Head of School, explained the motivation behind the renovation, stating that the previous cafeteria “was getting a little small for holding all of the students, and the kitchen was extremely small.” She praised the dining staff, saying, “It is so impressive what the amazing staff were serving people with so little space.”
The renovated cafeteria will transform the MBS dining experience. The larger space for the kitchen will provide the staff with more room and resources. As a result, there will be a wide variety of food options. One of the most exciting additions is the Crimson Cafe, which will allow students to buy snacks at any point in the day, except during lunch hours.
New seating changes, both long tables and high-top seating, will make the space more flexible and social. Another highlight is the new “meeting wall,” equipped with digital screens for presentations, designed to keep our community informed about upcoming events. Improved acoustics will also make it easier to hear friendly conversations during the lunch break.
These incredible new improvements to the cafeteria will curate a significantly more enjoyable dining experience, which, in turn, will create a great space to spend time with friends.
The finished product of the new and improved cafeteria promises to be worth the wait!
